Ukraine Imposed Sanctions Against Bookmakers

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose new sanctions on Russian companies. Sanctions have been extended to Russian bookmakers.

The document on this occasion was published on the website of the Ukrainian President.

The restrictions, in particular, included the Russian operator of state lotteries Sportloto, as well as the bookmakers Sportbet, Betsity, Matchbet, Pari, Marathon, Olimp and others. In addition, restrictions were imposed on the Parimatch company registered in Cyprus.

In total, the new restrictions affect another 287 companies, and not only Russian ones. Sanctions against them are set for a period of five to 50 years.

In addition, 120 people were also added to the Ukrainian sanctions lists. Among them are Russians, as well as citizens of Cyprus, Great Britain, Poland, Armenia, Turkey and the Netherlands.

The sanctions include the freezing of assets, the introduction of a ban on trading with these companies and individuals, and other restrictions.

Recall that at the end of February, Ukraine expanded sanctions by introducing them against Russian children’s ombudsmen. The Ukrainian president then stated that restrictions were imposed against persons “involved in the abduction of children.”
