The Philadelphia Eagles will be without defensive tackle Beau Allen for quite some time.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Saturday that Allen suffered a pectoral injury and will be sidelined 4-6 months, according to a source informed of the situation.
The Philadelphia Inquirer was first to report the news.
Allen, who is entering his fourth season with the club, was vying for a starting role after Bennie Logan departed during free agency.
In his three seasons with Philadelphia, Allen has appeared in 16 games each year, and started in three tilts in 2016.
