Note you’ll need to be a Battle Pass holder in order to undertake this challenge.
If you’re just getting started, our Fortnite Battle Royale tips and tricks can provide some helpful hints.
How the Haunted Hills treasure map works
For the Week 9 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:
- Follow the treasure map found in Haunted Hills (1 total, 10 Battle Stars)
Another challenge this week is to search between different Named Locations (more on this soon!)
Haunted Hills hides a map that paves the way to a hidden treasure. Note only those with the Battle Pass will be able to see it, and on the map features a diagram of where the treasure can be found.
However, you can skip this first step and go straight to the treasure location – as explained later on this page – if you prefer to do so.
As with other challenges, you must do these as you play matches – you cannot enter the map without other players – so you’ll have to avoid combat encounters as you attempt to find each location.
Haunted Hills treasure map location
Haunted Hills is located in the north-west of the map – just to the south of Junk Junction, or north-west of Pleasant Park. However, you don’t need to go there at all to pick up the treasure – just follow the instructions below.
The destination you’re aiming for isn’t a million miles away – it’s just to the north in Junk Junction.

Specifically, you’ll want to visit the central northern part of Junk Junction. On the map, it’s the bottom right corner of map quadrant B1, on roughly the ‘N’ of the Junction in Junk Junction’s map text.
The easiest way to get there is by air, so set your sights on it from the Battle Bus, and glide in.

When you land, run around until the Treasure appears. Looking at Junk Junction itself, it’s actually on top of a mid-sized stack of squashed cars. When it does appear, use the button prompt to collect it.

In our experience, this isn’t too busy a treasure map spot, likely because Junk Junction is a bit more out of the way than some other places – still, do your best to quickly get in and out again!
If you’re struggling, you can always wait for a round where the Battle Bus doesn’t pass as closely to Junk Junction, so it’s less likely you’ll find people there, or even wait until a future week when most people have moved on to other Challenges.

Note you need to complete the match in order for the challenge to be finished. Quitting the match as soon as you collect it won’t work, so make sure you keep going.
Already done? There are plenty of other Challenges to take on this week – including searching between different Named Locations – so keep playing!
