The Town of Hamburg Police called off the manhunt for four male suspects in the Orchard Park area Tuesday night after a drive-by shooting.
Police searched for the four men who fled from them following a drive-by shooting in Lackawanna, for about four hours before ending the search.
The Town of Hamburg Police say they received calls about two vehicles traveling on South Park Avenue after being involved in a shooting. Police say the two vehicles crashed in Hamburg and the men from one of the vehicles ran from the scene into a field behind Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
A Code Red alert was issued to residents advising them to shelter in place. Officials said the suspects were possibly armed and dangerous.
Police describe the suspects as two black men and two Hispanic men.
After searching the area, police said they could not locate the suspects.
In a written statement, Hamburg Police said “They are believed to have left the area, and there is not believed to be any cause for public alarm at this time.”
News 4 was told that the suspects have not been caught.
The Town of Hamburg Police Department declined on-camera interviews with News 4 after the search ended.
The scene consisted of heavy police presence including multiple law enforcement agencies with officers on foot and in helicopters.
