A Working Visit of the Delegation of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council to Tajikistan

A delegation of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council, headed by Chairman Taras Kupchikov, visited the Republic of Tajikistan.

As part of the trip, a meeting was held with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan with Daler Jum’a, as well as a meeting with the heads of energy companies, at which the issues of restoring the parallel operation of the energy system of Tajikistan with the IPS of Central Asia, the implementation of investment projects in the electric power industry, the peculiarities of the passage of the autumn-winter period, the implementation of decisions of the Economic Council and the CIS Electric Power Council, as well as current issues of interaction within the working structures of the CIS Electric Power Council, in particular on the development of market mechanisms, equipment operation, digital transformation, training and retraining of personnel, as well as low-carbon development.

As part of the negotiations, Taras Kupchikov thanked Mr. Dzhumya for his significant contribution to the activities of the CIS Electric Power Council, as well as for assistance in organizing the visit. The parties agreed to intensify interaction in all relevant areas for the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as on assistance from the Executive Committee of the Electric Power Council in cooperation with relevant regulators and backbone companies of the CIS.

Based on the results of visiting the largest hydropower facility under construction in the Republic of Tajikistan – the Rogun HPP (Barki Tojik OJSC), Taras Kupchikov noted the scale and high importance of this facility for the energy sector of Central Asia: “After the completion of the project, the Rogun HPP dam with a height of 335 meters will become one of the most highest in the world, and the station will become the largest hydroelectric power plant in Central Asia.”

When visiting Sangtudinskaya HPP-1 (JSC Sangtudinskaya HPP-1), the high professionalism of the operating personnel was noted.

As part of the study of the issue of connecting to parallel operation, a technical visit was made to the 500 kV Regar substation (Shabakakhoi intikoli bark JSC). The delegation of the Executive Committee of the Electric Power Council of the CIS from the Russian Federation included a representative of PJSC Rosseti.
